The Turks & Caicos Islands are comprised of two groups of islands, the "Turks Islands" and the "Caicos Islands". The Caicos Islands are the larger group, with almost 96 percent of the land area and 82 percent of the 36,000 population.

The total land mass is approximately 193 square miles. Of the 40 islands and cays, only eight are inhabited.

Several Hollywood stars have built homes in the Turks and Caicos, including Dick Clark and Bruce Willis. Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner were married on Parrot Cay.
